Do I have to be a state resident to Apply?
Yes. Only WI residents may apply for the permit. The only exception is for active duty military stationed in Wisconsin. Specifically residency is reflected by one’s drivers license.
Do I have to be a US Citizen to apply?
No, can be a resident alien, but must provide ailien registration for background check.
What is the Application Fee for the state permit?
$40 including the background check.
What is the Renewal Fee?
$22. The WI Dept. Of Justice will notify you 90 days prior to the expiration of your permit.
How long does it take to get the permit after my application has been submitted?
21 Days.
What is the complete process to apply for the permit?
Roughly speaking you take a qualifying class (like the ones we teach) and then mail your class certificate along with the state application and the fee to the State Department of Justice. We walk all our students through the details in the class.
Are Permit Holders Required to Notify Law Enforcement When Confronted?
No.
Can Private Property Owners Prohibit Firearms on Their Property?
Yes

Do I have to shoot a firearm for this class?
No, but naturally we encourage all students to get as much firearm handling experience and training as possible as part of a lifelong journey toward being a prepared armed citizen.
How Often Do I Have to Renew My Permit?
5 years
How Do I apply for the permit after I complete the course?
Fill out the application and mail it off with the fee and class certificate or submit it online.
Do Ex-Military Have to Take a Class?
Ex-military do not have to take the class. They need to show their discharge documents and will get their license if they qualify under other requirements as well.
Are there Discounts for Seniors or Veterans?
Yes, 10% discounts for Seniors and veterans
Can I Take my Concealed Carry Class Online?
No.
What is Your Refund Policy? What If I Can’t Attend the Class I Signed Up For?
We will refund students when unable to attend a class they have prepaid for. We ask for prepayment only to have a reliable count of how many students are coming. This has become necessary because we fill most of our classes to capacity. Our full refund policy can be see here.
With an Wisconsin CCW what states may I carry in?

Will my or can my neighbors, friends, employer find out I have a CCW?
No, Wisconsin’s CCW is NOT PUBLIC INFORMATION.
Must I have a firearm to take this class?
No.
Must I register my firearm when I receive my permit?
No, Firearms are not registered in Wisconsin.
